Got some pics of the convicts tonight.

These are the fry that are with their parents. The first one is one of my female fry.

some one in this forum said at this size you cant tell males from females i wont mention the name but the initals are s.k..... now if you look at your female of this brood uyou will see she has red on her side. look closley at the top picture you sent and say hello to mommy.

Excuse me? I don't recall seeing where silver dollars stated how big these fish are, but for the record, I have always stated that convicts are easy to sex starting at .5" in size. I've bred convicts for years, and females start to show the orange belly at half an inch, easy. So watch who you pick a fight with.

Oh, and for the record, due to the gross overbreeding and inbreeding of convicts, it's starting to become a lot more common to see males with orange on their sides as well.

Sinister, i wouldnt worry about what marvin is saying. Everyone on this site knows u know what ur talking about and will go with your word over someone like marvins. I too have had a male convict with an orange belly and have the photos to prove it if you would like. marvin, I also dont like how you keep attacking people on this site. We try to keep it friendly here, and give out the best information possible. SD you got some nice looking con's there, i love the finnage on the con in the first pic. How long have you had those fry, they look nice, big, and fat!

Silverdollars, how old are the fry they look almost full grown?

They were about 7 1/2-8 months old. I kinds miss them but now i have alot more room.

You male has some nice colors. Is it the whole line or just a few individuals that show those blue patches on the body and hint of red in the fins?
I have some wild cons and neither sex shows orange spangling.
If it weren't for the obvious size difference I'd probably have trouble telling who was who lol.
Gotta love the variation on cons.

That first picture of mine is one of my female fry. I reall loved the color on there fins, wish i could have kept her lol

I knew that first one was a female . Just wondering if they all have the neat coloration as you can see a little bit of blue on the male in like the last pic, and the red in the caudal shows best in the second.

hey, nice convicts! i have a question u guys miight have an answer to: why are my convicts "kissing eachother." I have read some where that this isnt some type of affectionate thing but actually a way they fight??? any ideas on what it actually is and whether I should buy something to fix the problem or simply jsut remove one of them??? thanks before hand on any help.
