Well I've had these two for three days now, but I've been pondering names for them and have finally decided. So I'm officially introducing them as Dagon (male) and Sphynx (female). Story is this: last month I went out of town and came home with Phoenix and Phantom, a female and male from two different stores. Within two days, Phoenix had driven her intended boyfriend to suicide (jumped from the tank) and that was the end of that. Until three days ago - I had to go back to the same city for a family function, and decided to stop in at the store I purchased Phoenix at to see if they still had one of their males left from the time I purchased her. They had two rd/midas left - a breeding pair, already paired up and successfully mated recently. So, alas, they ended up coming home with me.

I came home from work today and peeked in on them, Dagon was out for a minute or two peering at me (they've mostly been hiding so far), and I noticed how much larger his nuchal hump suddenly was. Well, then about two hours ago I went in the room (their tank is in my bedroom) and realized why - looks like they're christening the new home, or at least getting ready to. They were displaying like crazy for each other and zipping around the tank together, Sphynx's egg tube has dropped a bit as well. So I grabbed the camera...didn't make for the best quality photos, but it shows them off fairly well.

and Dagon

And the happy couple together:

Down in the opening of this "root" seems to be their spot they've decided upon

Thanks everyone :) I'm not sure what was up with the pictures before...you were right, Orion, they weren't working at one point. I checked this site briefly before heading out to work this morning and saw your note about them not working, and I couldn't see them at the time either...but didn't have time to try and fix before leaving. Get to work and check it now, and it's all better, lol. Wierd.

Lol well if/when they spawn, I don't intend to keep the babies I don't think...at least not at the moment. I just don't have the tank space to grow them up! I'll leave them with mom and dad, and whoever survives to a decent size, they can be sold or something.

Lol if you'd ever actually kept a wet pet, you'd know that discus are definitely not.

Not that I'm downplaying your discus at at all...I love discus, would love to do up a tank for them one day. But they likely wouldn't get named either ;)
