My name is Valerie. I just moved in with my boyfriend Joey this year and I thought a betta fish would be a nice addition to our first apartment. I've had bettas on my own before, all of whom I've loved, but none have been quite as special as Donnie. Joey is allergic to dogs and cats, so Donnie has become a very important part of our family. I usually have my bettas in bowls 1-2 gallons, but I am about to try a 5 gallon tank. I've tried a tank one other time a few years ago with some goldfish, but it didn't end well. Something always seemed to go wrong, and I think it's because there were just a few things I didn't know. I really want to do things right this time, so I'm here and all over the internet for any information I'll need to keep Donnie happy and healthy.
