I have a 10 gallon tank that has been running for a little over a month.  I have a betta (male), 2 african dwarf frogs, and a 1.5 inch pleco.  What do you suggest I add?  I know the pleco is going to get large and in the next couple of months, as soon as he grows a little, he will be taken out.

We would recommend neons, cardinals, or something small similar to that.  You don't want anything w/ major finnage of course, since that may provoke an attack by the betta.  We've even had fancy guppies that got attacked by bettas.  Also, if you want to increase the amount of bottom activities, you may consider adding corys, always a treat.  Hope this helps.

Rummy-nose tetra's and bloodfin tetra's are also great little fish.  I also am fond of the white and black skirt tetra's. I have had mine for over a year now, so they must be tough little fishes. :)

nothing. in contrast to your previous post if you have a pleco your done for now till you get a bigger tank.now get out there and get that bio wheel because your fish wont last too long without good filtration and a pleco.buying a pleco is like buying a small dog and keeping it inside all the time.this fish is going to need a lot of matainance.mine grew 4 inches in one year, and i could have done better.so keep that in mind.

well yes, I think you should add in a biowheel. However, it may not be necessary because good bacterial growth should be in your decor, gravel etc...but to be sure about and for higher sucess in combating ammonia to turn into harmless nitrate I believe a biowheel is a very good investment. Now, you can't have just the biowheel, you'll have to keep the filter in it because that is for the chemical, biological, and something else cleaning so the filter is very important, basically your filter cleans the crap out of your water, and also the harmful chemicals in your tapwater, of course before doing water changes, you need to have a water conditioner to further take out the harmful additives put in water. Ok i hope this enlightened you on your question.

I totally agree with catfishmike on the pleco.  He definetely needs a new home very soon.  This is why I no longer buy them because they take so much dang maintenance.  And I think I do alot of maintenance on my tanks, but apparently not enough with a pleco I suppose cause they always died on me within a year.  Definetely need lots of good filtration, so if your planning on keeping him in there for awhile, definetely get the bio wheel.

Thanks for everyone's advice.  Lucky for me, a friend with a 60 gallon tank was more than happy to add a young pleco to his tank so he (or she, I have no idea) is no longer n the 10 gallon.
