I was told from a previous thred that 6 fish was way too many for my 10G tank....wo, i thought that would be less than full by heaps, there seems to be plenty of room, the dimensions are:
W:29
L:38
D:40
S/A:1102cm[sup]2[/sup]
Also could I get some ideas on how I can set up my tank so that it is very visually appealing and also helps the fish in the long run.... i dont know what i am saying, but i think you know what i mean.

The smaller the fish, the more you can put in. When I said you had too mant fish, I meant initially. 6 is about right for a 10g, depending on the species.

My first tank was a 10g with 3 swordtails (two females and a male), and 3 pygmy cories. I found it to be a very active and attractive tank.

In any case, I think your best bet is a small school of small, active fish.

Since this does seem to be your first tank I agree with Josh go with some small peaceful fish. Some I would suggest are guppies, swordtails, mollies (these are not my favorite fish but they do good for a beginner. Other that would be more interesting to me are neons, tetras, barbs. These are fish that tend to stay in the mid sections of the tank and some bottom dwellers I would get would be some cories. They are good fish and are pretty hardy. But whatever you do don't get fish at wal-mart or get one of those "sucker fish" which are actually called plecostomus or pleco for short. ;D

To make your tank more appealing you could add some live plants. These are beautiful live specimines for any tank. Some I would suggest for a beginner are java moss, java fern, and glossostigma. Also hygros work good in most tanks. Some interesting rocks look nice in your tank also. Good luck on your new tank and just ask any questions you may have, we're all just hear to help. ;D  *thumbsupsmiley* *laughingcryingsmiley* *celebratesmiley*
