I have a lot of spot of algea and of other algea that is covering the plants, rocks, and driftwood in my 10g Amazon tank. I was wondering if anyone knew a good algea eater from the Amazon that I could put in a 10g tank with the following fish

6 x Neon Tetras
2 x Blue Rams
2 x Julii Corys

Any input would be great, thanks.

Would they do well in the 10 gallons? I have heard that my tank was overstocked with the fish already, is this true? Also how many SAE's should I put in their? What should I feed them once the algea is gone? How do I tell the difference between SAE and false SAE's?

I think that your tank is just about right stocking wise right now, you could add one SAE, and that is all you would need, it would eat all the algae in no time =) Mine eats whatever is about, he eats left over flakes, but I also add in small shrimp pellets for him, he sucks on them until they are tiny then eats them.

Yeah I'd go with the SAE also, haha when I first got algae when I was first starting out as an avid aquarist, i saw a big 10" pleco at walmart, I had boughten tons of plants the week before, then the next morning i woken up to a tankful of half-eaten plants, I sold the pleco to a friend the next day, lol, so if you have lots plants i dont recommend a pleco

yes an otto is a much better choice as an algae eater, perhaps one of the best.the sae will outgrow your tank and can be a mean fish.mine have allways been mellow but i have seen very rough ones too.your tank is heavly stocked as is and thats probably thecause of your algae problem.all those fish need food which means more nitrates and that means algae food.also how long is your light on for each day?too much light will give you algae no matter what

I have the lighting on for around 11 hours a day, and I cant seem to find Ottos any where, I have gone to 4 petstores, and I cant find them. But it seems to me that I have a lot of bottom dwelling fish already, the 2 cories and 2 rams, wouldnt it become too crowded if I 2 more bottom feeders down there?
