10gal breeding cichlid?

Im looking for a cichlid that is fairly easy to breed and can go in a 10gal tank, if possible.Im also looking for something different besides Apistos,rams, and kribs.I cant find small shellies around here so thats out.Is there one?

Are you opposed to having some fish shipped? You could get shell dwellers that way.

yea.Cause i had some really bad luck with yellow labs.They shipped twice and both times the ended up dead.

I have had success with Keyholes in a 10G. The only ones that i can think of that can go into a 10G are Rams, Kribs, Keyholes, and Apistos. Or you can move your Bolivian Rams into the 10G if they are a breeding pair.

The males get 6'' and the females get around 4''. I've bred them in my 10G and they did fine in there.

There not in the 10G now, there in the 55G with an angel pair, 1 krib, 4 pristella tetras, and 1 female betta. I put them in the 10G cause they were showing signs of pairing up, so moved them in there to lay there eggs. If you want them to breed, add a flat rock or something in the tank with some java moss near the rock.

silver i think he wants fish that can LIVE in the 10 for life, not just in there for breeding........right?

Yeah.If i got keyholes i would just keep them in the 55 for life.I dont like to move my fish from tank to tank.Its stress my fish out ALOT.Well looks like im left with apistos.

What can you get your hands on around you. I can suggest stuff but like the shellies not sure if you'd be able to get it.

Checkerboard cichlids
Curviceps
Julidochromis transcriptus

^ All stay under 4" and a pair of one of them would probably be fine. IMO.

No we dont have any of those around here.Maybe every once and awhile the lfs would pick checkerboards up, but we dont have any julies around here.
