Is it possible to keep Blue Rams in a 10g tank, this would be a species tank. I have not set up the tank yet, so if this isnt a good idea, its ok just let me know. If I cant keep rams, are there any other cichlids I can keep in it? If not I guess I will have to stick with the tetras.

if you have a boy and a girl, they will breed and the ones not paired will be beaten badly and be misserable, make it easier and just breed them, they are easy to take care of and you could always gieve the babies away after like 2 months if you dont want to raise them

Ok, so you are saying that I could keep the Rams in the tank, get a pair, and what about the babies, could they be safely raised in the 10g tank with the parents without screwing up the water quality? Should I just give the Rams back to the LFS or what, since I dont have any more room than that 10g.

yeah, I should probably do that,

Well, so far the rams challenged the cories, but the cories held their ground and the rams wont bother them

The Rams seem to ignore the Neons, Except I did find one of the neons dead and mangled? (murder?)

So basicly the rams just chase each other around non-stop, the male chases the female and then the female chases the male,

I also want to keep a pair in a 10g with some cories. So are they doing fine? Whats the best and or easiest way to tell the difference from male and female? Im afraid if i ask the employee he will just net two males or something just guessing male and female. Thanks

Well, my male has a dark blotch on his body, as well as really well defined black lines down its eye/area, and on its dorsal fin. The female is pretty drab and small. She does not really have defined colorations on her body. I couldnt tell the difference in the fish store, I just said to the guy, Give me 2 rams, and I got lucky.

So everythings been fine for the last 3 weeks or so, I dont know what will happen as they get older though. But so far so good.
