12 gallon deluxe JBJ Nano Tank Lighting

I'm looking to replace my bulbs, its coming up on a year here soon. Is there any type of upgrade I can do that would allow more wattage and keep my current setup? I cannot remove the lid due to my girlfriends cat. So I would need some sort of mod to make more power out of the stock lighting. If this is not an option and I sound like a huge idiot, feel free to just let me know! *twirlysmi HAHA

Either way I need new bulbs, so point me in the right direction if you have purchased some for a JBJ and are happy with them. Thanks

What type of lights do you have? Power compact, T5, metal halide.

I have the standard ones that came with the unit. They are the Power Compacts I believe.....

Thats why I'm wondering if I can upgrade.

I don't believe you can upgrade the wattage without replacing the hood. New lamps should make a difference in coral growth, though.

Are there upgradeable hoods then? I really want more light for my tank.

Yes you can get replacment lids that have 1 metal halide fixture in it i think it produces 150 Watts. Go to the JBJ website.
