Id say thats a steal with the LR rock and polps. Is it all setup ?

If i found one here in the uk.. that price would convert to around £100 and i would take it quite happily :D

Sounds like a good deal if you don't want the yellow tail you could try and get him get the yellow tail and give you store credit or something else around the fish's price. i'm always doing that with corals :p but if you think about it on there the tanks 120, 15lbs here is about 70bucks so your pretty much getting the rest for free.

Good luck

so went and asked some questions
and its actually a 12g saltwater eclispe with 50/50 compact bulb, dont know wattage.
he told me i either took the damsel or left it, he wouldnt give me another fish for it.
so im thinking about getting the tank without the damsel and then getting a royal gramma and coral banded shrimp.

and fought with my dad about it and he caved in and said i could have 4 tanks up instead of the three. so ya...im pushing him but o well. i know he wants the tank as bad as me.

yep when i get my next paycheck ill be buying it. maybe even get it tomorrow if i can get my dd to give me a short loan..or go to the back and take money out. just need to find a place to put it tonight.
and i talked about it with my dad and he said, get it now and upgrade later if you want but you will only have 4 tanks up...lalalala

btw...do you think leathers would be OK possibly in low lights?

i dont like eclispe....a nano cube is a good investment...if u want a small tank to start. and the wattage is 9 or 14 which is no where close to a min. req. for a coral/reef tank.

bumbe bees snails are bad for your tank...dont know y but they just are....they look cool though...but the bumbee hermit crab would be great.

u need some snails too. try not getting astraea snail cuz they commonly crawl out of your tank...mine arent doing much....a nass snail or something a bit round.

hmm well i plan on upgrading later on when a good buy comes along but i think that this will be good for me to learn on.
and ya will get about 7-10 turbo snails
and i like the looks of the blue-legged hermits
and i will be getting a couple brittle stars from my dads buddy.

and right now im not too worried about a coral/reef tank. ill build up as i go and learn a bit more about it all before i ge too serious and invest hundreds into a tank again.

snails and fish came with. the tank has been setup for about 3 months and everything was established.
and found out the little guy is a rock flower, and he has moved. he has a couple rocks or something stuck on his side though...should i pull those off or let him be?
and my royal gramma disappeared...could he be hiding in a crevice? lights are still off, btw.

ok so list of things i need to get still:
sun polyps
starfish
hermits
possibly a sleeper goby. any ideas?

and for the additives...is essential elements by kent ok?

Not sure if you already know this....but sun polyps need to be fed, they are not photosynthetic. I'd do some research on them, then decide if you want to get one. In my opinion they are not hard to keep as long as they are fed, but as a SW beginner you may want to wait. Frequent feeding can foul your water if you aren't careful.

Grammas are notorious hiders. You may want to consider a couple more pieces of liverock......and increase your water flow with a powerhead. The doohicky where the water comes out on the Eclipse tanks isn't going to be enough. Did they have it set up that way at the LFS?

Welcome to saltwater :)

phytoplankton right?
planned on getting some...but dont know whether to do live or dead.

and ya it came like that. i know its not that impressive of a setup but it was a good buy IMO. and ya im getting more LR when i have money.
the only thing with this tank is that there is no place really to put a powerhead. i dont think anyways, perhaps im wrong.

and thanks, hopefully i dont murder everything in there. im already attached to my hidden gramma :)

and feeding twice or so a week was my plan. frozen foods mainly, split up between the other tanks. so they 12g wont get but hardly any food. just enough to feed everybody.

and heres a list of what i liked, but couldnt found exactly anything much about them cept thier light requirement is low to high
mushroom anenome
carpet brain coral
devil's hand
bubble coral
open brain coral(not enough light i think)
ricordia

dont know about any of them *shrug* thinking about playing around with the top to get more light in. any ideas on that bit?

then i just squirt it at the poor fellows!?

and what do you think about the list Limi? pretty sure the colt coral would be ok on my reading so far
