So i've decided to upgrade my 2.5gal to a 10gal. Not much of an upgrade but i aquired a free 10gal and had it sitting around so why not? Much much more room.

I'll be using all of the LR/substrate from the 2.5 (plus some) and the filter. I'll probably be going with a 70w MH retrofit/DIY for lighting. Yes i said a MH on a 10gal. :)

What i'm not sure about is a good powerhead(s) that would give me good flow but not be very bulky. Thinking about a Hydor Koralia #1 + MaxiJet 900 combo? Or just a Maxi Jet 900? Suggestions please.

Can't think of anything else i need...

just a maxi-jet 900 should be fine.

Hydor Koralia in a 10g is pushing it. its going to stir up a lot of sand and LR dieoff.

your going to add more LR right?

70w under 10g is pretty good but seen 400w under 20g before...

Oh no, my limit is about a 40gal. (will be looking for a 40 breeder soon) ;) Just got rid of a 55gal tank, and don't want to go much bigger then that. Operating costs, maintaining costs kill me. Not to mention the 2.5gal tank spoiled me on Water changes.

I'm TRYING to keep the SW on a smaller scale. ;)

A 15g would be a great size, if you don't go for the 20 long. They're wider, and can make a nice aquascape. I don't know if they're commonly available, though. I have a bunch, but haven't seen them in stores.
24x12x12 ?

I've never seen them for sale around here. Hopefully heading to the LFS in a few hours...a 20L might follow me home.....with a couple of new frags. *crazysmil hahaha

Fridmani(sp) dotty backs are very nice coral safe fish. sixlines are also nice, if you get one add it last. There are pygmy angels and tons of goby/shrimp combos you could do. all the options make me want a bigger tank.
