I have a 2.5 gallon tank that i'm looking to put something in. What would be best? Could it support molly's? Should I just stick with tetra and shrimp? If so, how many tetra would be a good number? Could I get some tetra and a beta? I have a Duetto Mini filter/aerator that has an air regulator. How much is too much as far as bubbles in the water goes? Should there be bubbles stuck to all the "plants" (plastic)?
Thanks for any and all help.

You'll probably hear this from a lot of people :) but the bigger the better is a great rule of thumb in fishkeeping.
You should go with the 1 inch of fish per gallon of water suggestion.
I'd put a betta in and maybe 1-3 ghost shrimp.
But that's all you can really put in.
I just recently installed an air pump in my 5g and I had to turn it down. There were so many bubbles that it was creating it's own current! Just as long as there's a place for the fish to rest, you should be ok.

In my 2.5 I have a betta and a ghost shrimp. You can see it here: 2 1/2 Gallon

That's actually an old picture, taken before I put in the palm filter and heater. I was using the bubble stone up to that point.

After a year the oscar outgrew it (just kidding, of course)....
