2 new baby fishes

i just went to petsmart and purchased an oscar & jack dempsey. should i feed these guys right away or wait awhile?

Feed a little to see if they're eating.

Are both fish in the same tank?

If they have been acclimated then yeah sure. What size tank are these guys in?

there in a 55g. both about 1 1/2. there hiding under the same rock.

might be kinda small for the oscar. the dempsey should be fine but the oscars growth may be stunted. not to mention the aggression. I remember someone on here had a friend and they both bought oscars. one went in a 55 and the other in a 90 i think. the one in the 90 grew like 3" larger in the same amount of time.

the jack seems to be more active. it has already ate about 3 pellet. the oscar is just sitting in the bottom of the tank. the only time it moves is when i turn off one of the lights

Oscars would be fine in 50g and above. I really don't think it would stunt their growth. What if the person who had the oscar in the 90g fed him more? Anyway, I think your fine but as they grow look at how they act with each other.

theoretically, it would stunt there growth, but i couldnt see a 3" difference, oh well, im off topic
