20 gallon cichlids

`IVe been having issues with my 20 gallon and when its all situated and clean Im thinking of stocking some cichlids but what are some choices to stock the 20 gallon bad boy with cichlids, Im not fond of keyholes but maybe

Wait a second. You put Discus and Yellow Labs in there yahoo....which i would advise against. Yes discus (a mated pair) could be kept in a 20gal...but only a mated pair and it'd probably have to be a 20H.

All the other choices are good. Apistos are great choices, Blue Rams, Tang Shelldwellers are always an experience though they don't have the color like the Apistos or rams. They have the personality.

What would you like to see in the tank? Color? Want it planted? Etc Just trying to get an idea of where you would like to go with this tank.

i do want color and it will be planted I like my raphael catfis and would like to add one to my twenty gallon too

hmm, i would say apistos or checkerboards, but a raphael will get far too big for a 20gal.

Apistos or rams all the way. Rams tend to be sensitive to water. Everything needs to be perfect.

Are you wanting to have a community tank? Or just some cichlids and the catfish?

Either way, I'd go with a pair of Apistos or Rams. Or even Kribs. 20g is a bit small for most cichlids (yellow labs and discus being 2 of them)

Is the tank a 20 high (24 inches long, i think) or 20 long (30 inches long)?
