20 gallon tank kit

Is it true that any aquarium kit over 20 g comes with a filter because my 2 gallon hex tank kit didn't come with a filter

well, most aquarium kits come with a filter. Mine did and it was a 10gal kit from walmart. If it didn't come, then buy one. They are extremely easy to find, and generally not very expensive!

My 5 gallon kit came with a filter and so did my 16 gallon.
Just read what the box says about what the kit contains to make sure that it has a filter and if it doesn't you can easily purchase a separate filter.

I have several two gallon hexes (none bought new, unfortunately, but I have checked the new ones and they come with all the same stuff mine did) and they only came with the undergravel filters (which are useless for me now because I prefer to use sand in my tanks). I made a really cool little DIY sponge filter for the one I just set up and it works like a charm.
