20 Long good idea?

I think i'm going to move my 10 gallon nano into a 20 gallon. But i'm not really sure if it's better to go 20 long or 20 standard.

right now i'm leaning towards 20 long, should be easier to get light through to the bottom and i dont think i'll need to buy much more rock (in terms of aquascaping). But does anyone forsee any problems with this, like will the lights heat the tank a lot more or will it be harder to get enough water movement?

if you have good water movement, the temp will be ok. What's your lightinG?

I do all DIY stuff, so some ballasts and some lights... unfortunetly i dont have any money for actinics right now, as my only one broke.

you will be better with a 20L. easier to light and increased swimming length for the fish are both benefits, plus the added length will make aquascaping easier than in a 20 standard

i agree, plus more surface area so you should get better gas exchange
