24inch UGF ina36inch tank

I/m upgrading to a36" tank,already have a 24"with a green (male?) severum about 2years old & still growing want to add a female the same size to stop any stand over tactics in the 24"(72L) my filtration is UGF with abox in the corner a air stone running into filter floss&gravel everything is doing the job OR the seve would/nt have lasted can i use this same filter system when i upgrade?or add more if so what?

Hello; I have used undersized UGF in tank setups with good success before.

It would be a good idea to add a hang on filter to make up for the extra fish and it would provide more flow.
