Hey everyone... Was wondering if theres a stand i could get for less than 80 dollars. Costs that much at the lfs so just wondering if anyone knows where theyre cheap. No hurry i got it setting on an old desk-like thing right now thats working alright just would like to get a stand. Thanks!

Oh you definitly wouldnt say that if you knew me lol. im the most un-handy guy you know. Itd take me weeks to figure out where the nail in the wood went :p Maybe i could get one of my friends to make it for me tho. It wouldnt take much to build a stand that is sturdy enough to hold a 29 gal would it? No more than 300 lbs worth on it at any time right?

you can build one for less than thirty dollars.

i did it.

so can you! :)

8 cinder blocks @ 80 cents a piece
1 2x10 cut into 4 even pieces (16' long board), 14-16 dollars
fabric to cover stand....2-10 dollars, depending on how nice you want it.

i'll take a picture of mine, and attach it.

Here is the stand with the cover put up so you can see how i put it together.

please excuse the kitten.

here is one with the cover down.

no tools required.

a bit of sewing was needed for the 'curtains', but my mom did that for me.

my tank background matches my stand...leftover fabric glued to some cardboard that is behind the tank.

As you can see, though, i forgot to put some fabric on the top of the stand....and i realized that after i put the water in the tank.

I'll do that after i move.

:)

I literaly, JUST got home from aquarium pricing at every LFS in my area. Petsmart had a ton of stands of all shapes and sizes, ALL ON SALE, at the moment. I didn't look at the price on somthing along the lines for a 29g, but the 55g stands were on sale for $139. I'd imagine something small for a 29g shouldn't cost more than $80.

ive been calling around to the lfs's all day today looking for a stand for my 55 gallon. walmart had one for 77$ so a 29 gallon stand should be at least 20$ less. most stands set up to high for my liking so i went out and found and old coffeetable at an antique shop.

Yah that one from big al's, the metal one, is that gonna support enoughweight. Says it will but it does like mighty flimsy. Am i gonna have to worry everytime i accidentally touch it or is it deceiving and very sturdy?
