That is big. Fish for everyone that night! Arapaima and Wels cats can get longer though. This fish is just massive. All the weight probably comes from density and width.

If they have a freezer, they will not have to go fishing for about a year. 293 kilos..the river must have a pretty good crap load to feed this animal. I read that the Mekong's river is where you find the most gigantic freshwater fishies in the world. Too bad the water is brown and fuzzy..could have been a cool snorkeling experience.

it runs through China's Yunnan province, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. But i think this one was caught in Thailand
