2x36w compact or 1x96w compact??? need help

Besides the fact that the latter has more watts, is there any benefit for doing one over the other of these light strips? (They're retrofit kits from AH supply)

The only problem with the 96 watt is that the bulbs are more expensive, but somehow AH supply's are $33 when everyone else is $50. however, I don't want to limit myself to one supplier for future replacement bulbs.

Any comments would be great!

Tank is 46bow, have a few plants like java fern & moss, and anachris (not going to heavily plant, and not doing CO2)

I'd go for the 96 watt. It will give you a little more light, and you won't have a problem with a lighting gap in the middle (it could be minimal, but even lighting is better).
