Rainbows get along with just about every fish. Rainbows generally only eat small insects and fry. It's possible that if you have a large rainbow, it may eat other, smaller fish it can fit into it's mouth, although it's unlikely.

While rainbows get along with discus, I would not place them together. Rainbows are aggressive (not mean aggressive) when it comes to feeding. They can and will eat up the food before discus get to it. Also, discus may not prefer the rainbows constant movement, and could put a shy discus into hiding most of the time.

Tetras and rainbows would get along well.
