44 gallon with Oscar and JD

Would a 44 gallon be big enough for an Oscar and a Jack Demsey.
I already have the Oscar
I will get rid of the Midas and parrot.
Then when I buy the 45.
In Cristmas.
Would it be a good Idea to add a JD the same size?
My Oscar right now is 4 inches

its a pretty bad idea... since the oscar it self need a minimum of 55g.. till oscars can get up to 16"..
same goes for JD 55g minimum... try some convicts or neets or nicaraguense... something rather small... good luck with your decision what ever it will be

Yeah it wouldn't be a permanent home but how long do you think it will last until the fish outgrew the tank.
(Feeding them live only once a week and pellets every day)

2-3 months.... for the oscar...the jd is slower grower than the oscar

im afraid that your oscar may already be stunted, being in a 10 gallon tank for month (+)

if your buying the tank by christmas, he will definatly be stunted

if you keep on upgrading, why not spend less money and buy one large tank? (125 gallon maybe?)

a 44 gallon is too small for even one of those fish, if u somehow change ur mind and keep the 44 perminatly, which i strongly do not reccommend.

Decided to a 60

I saw some 60 gallon tanks kits at about the same price so I decided I'll get those.
Would that be a bigg enough tank in the long run for both of them????

i wouldnt be so sure. why not get some smaller cichlids like severums, or convicts, or even labyrinth fish.

severums are not small cichlids, they get a foot and are too large for that tank, you may try convicts, firemouths, jewels or other small cichlids

i got a JD in a 30 he is fine he is about 5 inches long
