Hello,

I have had my fish tank for about 4 years now, and I have had many many fish in this tank. I recently had my Blue Dwarf Gourmai die who was my first ever fish a few weeks ago. :(

I added some Sunburst Mollies about a year or so ago, only added about 4, along with about 7 neons, and 3 whiteclouds. There were about 15 total fish in my tank.

As of now, I have 2 Gold and 1 Blue gourmai, a Sucker Fish, about 5 Grown Mollys, 20+ tiny babies, and about 4 neon tetras.

Recently, my mollies have been producing like crazy. Same with my dads 2 tanks. There are babies all in my tank, some die, and some live. I have about 5 Grown Mollies with what looks like "tail rot" their fins arent fully expanded out. Kinda square shaped, some of my babies are curved at their back, and my 3 gourmais are doing just fine. I have tried countless times to seperate the male and female mollies, but they just keep reproducing. I have no idea what to do with my fish!! My dad like I said has 2 tanks. 1 40 Gal which has a full grown angelfish and mollies, and a 75 gal with a Balla, Some Albino Tiger Barb, 2 Sucker fish, 1 Rainbow fish, and 2 big silver fish (dunno name srry they look like Silver with orange tips bout 4 inch across)

I have noticed that my neons are starting to loose their nice tint of color. Mind they are nearly 4 years old and I think my fish generation is gradually dying out and it's time to start over.

I do not know what to do about these mollies and neons that are seeming to have problems.

Any suggestiosn to help me?

First, welcome to the tank.

I have been breeding mollies for my entire fish keeping career (6 months lol). I think that you are probably running into some inbreeding issues. Did you get the male and female from the same LFS? The neons could be losing color due to stress. If you could remove the fry, maybe their color will come back. I know I put my neons in my big tank and they got very brilliant and dark. They may just feel crowded.
