Does algae kill fish? We have had a zebra danio for about three years. It was one of the first fish we bought to cycle our tank (before we knew about the fishless cycle). He had been in a five gal tank with no lid, three tetras and algea problems. I bought a new five gal tank and added the fish but noticed the danio is having problems swimming. Is he dying because of the algae? What are his chances of survival with a new clean tank?

It could be the shock from changing tanks:
Water Temp
pH
Nitrates
Other eco-levels.

Well, he died. He was doing the same things in the other tank so I don't think it was the newness of the recent tank. I guess it was just his time. Thanks guys.
