I am in the very slow process of setting up a 5.5 gallon mini-reef, when I am done there will not be a spot that isn't covered in some type of coral. I am planning on having about 8 lbs of liverock, plus some chaeto in the ac 70 fuge with rock rubble. I do not want any algae of any kin din this tank, so i will be doing 50% water changes 2 times a week. I should be getting more cured liverock this weekend, along with some type of snail that consumes algaes such as diatoms and hair algae.

Livestock plans:
1 false perc ( i have done the research and yes it can be done and has been done numerous times with success)

some type of decorative shrimp, sexy shrimp and bumble be shrimp are in mind.

tons of zoanthids, easy to keep sps such as montipora digita.

I should have pics of the aquascaping up in a few days.

no clown because of the bio-load i want this to be and algae free tank, 3 sexy shrimp and 1 clown goby is less than a clown and 3 sexy shrimp. also clown gobies dont need alot of space, are cheap, and they just perc on corals and watch over the reef. the light is 96 watts of pc lighting.

Ok, I have the liverock put in the tank, still no cycle... I'm not going to add fish for a while, just corals. I added a frag of zoas and they are doing well, so im going to add 4 more frags today, also today is water change day. I am going to do a 75% before taking pictures later on tonight, i should have the picks up by 8 o'clock arizonia time, maybe earlier.

I would add the goby before adding most of your corals...when you add the fish your bioload is going to increase significantly, you want it to stabalize before adding the rest of your corals.

Update, the tank crashed not to long ago, the new inhabbitant is a N. wennerae mantis shrimp. The tank is doing alot better and best of all the algae is clearing up. I should be adding corals within the next month or so. First i need to find the cord to the camera so i can upload pics.
