Hello,

I could use some advice. I have a 5 gallon tank with a male betta in it. There is a bio wheel filter and a 50 Watt submersible heater installed. I was wondering what other fish I could get to go along with the betta with out over crowding the tank? Any suggestions?

Thanks for you help!

Pygmy cories for the bottom would work (need a group though). Or an oto for algae eating, or a snail or some shrimp. Depending on the temperament of the betta, you might be able to add a few small fish that aren't bottom dwellers (like female guppies, dwarf platies, rasboras, etc.).

You could probably put in 2 dwarf platy if you wanted. Maybe 2 White Clouds. Or three pygmy cory cats. Nothing more than that though. If you find something you really like and aren't sure if you can put it in, just ask here and I'm sure someone will give you some advice. :)
