55 gallon glass aquarium for $20

I purchased a 55 gallon tank from a friend for $20. Was very proud of my purchase and decided to do something really cool. A saltwater tank!

I needed to do some resealing due to lond periods of non-use. I am looking for the best way to build a hood for it because it is a homeade tank and also want to know if there is a way to add black trim to the top and bottom for looks? Any answers will be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on the steal of a deal! I suggest using moulding for the black top and bottom of the tank. You can get it relatively cheap and simply glue it right to the tank...once it's been painted black with a few coats, it should be good to go with water resistance for any spills that will occur. The only suggestion for the custom hood would be to make sure to use treated lumber and a good finish on it to withstand the harsh elements that come along with a saltwater tank environment. hey i used to live in okc go or call aquarium concepts on n. 50th or close and ask for jessy he will help doing something like that over the net is too hard and to reseal use marine goop you can get that at LOWES
