56K warning - Big Cichlid Tank Photos

As promised here are some photos taken of Steve Cass's cichlid tanks as part of the 2002 annual Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society Annual Homeshow tour. Steve is a very accomplished cichlid keeper, he has a wide range of central and south americans, as well as malawi and tanganykans. He also keeps eels, loaches and catfish in other tanks as you'll see.

the one on the left is a 200 gallon, the one on the right is a 150. I might have these backwards.

Cool tanks he has. I like the way he has them on low stands, makes it a lot easier to do maintenance! Although I would worry about falling in, after seeing the picture of the feeding frenzy

He has some nice loaches there, too The "other fish" in the 5th pic down is some kind of botia (loach).

that right there is almost my dream! except i won't be happy till i have a house full of tanks like the ones at cabela's.........sigh*** thinks happy thoughts........yeah that is pretty awesome, he has alot of really nice fish, i can't wait til mine get that big!!!

wow thats a lot of fish tanks, in the fish room part on the blue racks where is the filters? and how could he manage to take care of all of those tanks?

He has a lot of spare time on his hands.
I think he uses air powered UGF's in most of those tanks... I remember seeing some HOB's on some too.

sadly enough, my computer room already has 5 tanks in it, not to mention the other 4, and the one my mom bought today

Nothing wrong with having lots of tanks. Only problem is when you consider selling the tv, couch, bed, and dinner table to make room for a second rack

my only fear is that I will someday (soon) buy my hundred gallon, and after a few weeks....I will think that it is not big enough....and start eyeballing the 265 gallon down the street... =)
