So a couple of days ago I found my male guppy that I had just gotten from PetSmart swimming around with an orangey-brown worm hanging out of his side...and more on the tank bed. I removed him and scooped out the rest, gravel-vacced, and did a 50% water change. All the other fish looked ok. The next day the female guppy had one too. I moved her in with him....I had to wait to get treatment because I live an hour away from anything except Wal-Mart....which had nothing for internal parasites...and I had to work. I came home to find both guppies and 4 of my neon tetras....which are in the tank I removed the guppys from...dead. I called PetSmart, and they agreed to replace my fish and also give me meds for my tank. I almost got the Jungle parasite clear but I have ghost shrimp in the tank....and it is harmful to them. Can't move the shrimp to the other tank because the goldfish will get them....so I got Gel-tek. Got home to find my other 3 tetras colorless and barely swimming. I put some of the Gel-tek in and went to bed. This morning their color was back....they were swimming with the school....but I am afraid it may have spread to my frogs also? So, 3 questions:
Can African dwarf frogs get camellanus or anchor worms?
Should I treat the water also or just the fish with the Geltek?
What can I treat the water with that is safe for frogs, tetras, guppies, and shrimp?
