6700k pc's

i have 2 6700k daylight pc bulbs and 2 actinic pc bulbs. It seems when i turn on the 6700k's for long period of time, my rocks start to get the green tint to them, and if i turn them off and leave them off for awhile, it goes away. Is it b/c 6700k's are supposed to be FW lights? I originally used them for my FW plant tank. I believe maybe that the specturm is making that green color on the rocks. Should i ditch my 6700ks and get some 10000ks?

10k and 6700's are both effectively the same as daylight, and contrary to what some people believe (all/most corals need actinic light) it's a good idea to have daylight. Yes the extra intensity of having lights is going to cause some algae to grow, and you can't , nor do you really want to elmiinate all of it. Just aim to keep it under control with good water conditions and a clean up crew.

what do u think wayne if i replace the daylights with 50/50s? and just have 2 50/50s and 2 actinics

You might well be underlit as you'll have so much blue! Why do you think you need so much blue? Aesthetics is the only real reason.

Oh but you won't be keeping inverts so basically you can do what you want with lighting so get appearances as you like

i love that purple/blueish look that the 50/50s give to SW tanks.10'000ks almost seem to have a greenish tint that i dont like. But right now I think i am just going to leave as is. How long do you think i should keep the daylights on? and the actinics.
