Hi.. I've had this oscar since he was 3" (now he's a 9" Giant).. He grew up with a pair of Silver Dollars (4").. Introduced a pair of 3" Gold Saum (Green Terror?) a week ago.. Oscar completely ignores the rest of the fish (Guess coz' none looks like him).. (Gold Saums fought for 3 days.. with the alpha determined, beta keeps away from alpha)

Tank size - 84G
Food - frozen shrimp and goat heart, chopped. (I Know Silver Dollars are veggies.. mine eat meat readily.. they used to get veggies n pellets earlier)

I want to know if I can add any new fish to the tank and IF yes, which ones and how many.. plz suggest.

Thanks in advance

Vikram.

Nice oscar!
How long have you had him?

I'd definitely not add anything else to that mix. Like Fuzz said, you're easily maxed-out on your stocking level when you take into account the adult size of those GTs. Are you sure they're not male and female? I know you mentioned they have an apparent 'hostility' toward one another right now, but if they do happen to be of opposite sex and do eventually happen to pair up and spawn, your oscar may be in for a world of hurt.

My last recommendation is to add more variety to your fishes' diet. A good-quality pellet should take care of anything they're missing out on from their current diet...shrimp and goat heart simply does not provide enough of what they need.

Thanks Big Van and Fuzz16.. I've had my osacar for 7 months now..

I guess both my GTs are male.. would they tolerate eachother when they grow to full size?? a little of 'i'm the boss' fights are ok.. but continual brawls do get the hobbyist worried.. i would rather give one away now, than let one of them kill the other when they've grown up..

Beautiful Oscar!!

I honestly would return the Green Terrors, or if you HAVE too, keep one. The oscar and silver dollars will be fine together, but I dont think that 2 GT's will be good in there...especially if there is already fighting. Not only is it going to be a HUGE bioload, I just think it will look too full IMO.
On the food thing, I agree with Big Vine...A good quality pellet is what they should be eating.
