I enjoy reading everyone else's journals so i decided to start my own. Ive been in the hobby for about 4 years or so now. Have had tanks from 1-55 gallons but currently have 2 20 longs and a 30ish gallon hexagon atm. Just recently though my plans have been to buy a large tank and consolidate my smaller ones into it. So i found a great deal on a 90 gallon tank with stand and canopy on craigslist. Anyways i am not set on any plans yet except i want it heavily planted. Here are some beginning pics to start out. I will keep this updated frequently.

Well waiting on my substrate, powerheads and new light to come in atm. But in the meantime i wanted to show off my kuhli loaches!

1st one is 1 of the 3 new ones i got to make my count 6 now. Getting them ready for when this 90 is ready. This is how small they were when i got them.

And now this is how they look after i have had them about 4 years.

The first pic is of the one of the new i just got yesterday.
This is my favorite fish i have ever owned!

if you provide the shrimp with lots of FLOATING live plant cover, the khulis should not impact them too much. Hornwort, anacharis, water wisteria and water sprite are great plants to float in the corner for your RCS :)

Well little bit of an update. My substrate came in, mixed it with some black gravel also. My t5ho light came in, trying to decide if i want to hang it from my canopy or not. And my rena xp3 came in also....heres where it gets bad. The xp3 was from ebay, bought as used. Well tonight was the 1st night i hooked it up. I primed it (seemed to take forever), turned it on, low and behold, the motor runs but it doesnt push any water. Oh and it leaks around the rim. So needless to say im a little pissed. It was sold to me as flawless and in perfect working condition. I am going to try and return it to the seller because i am not going to deal with it. I do have a few pics with this update though heh.

just a little tip on your filter. it looks like you have an HOB (I'm not familiar with the one that you have). Pour some water into your actual filter to get the flow going. this happens to mine everytime I do water change.*laughingc

if its an aqualclear they can be a bit tricky to start... keep working on it by pouring water in the back and through out it... then turning it on.. if the motor runs and the impeller spins theres no reason why it cant work

Well some good news, i fiddled with the xp3 outside with a bucket and now all of a sudden it works and doesnt leak... Not really sure what happened but at least its working now. On the downside the fish store who sold me some tubing for my intake and output sold me **** lol. Its too flexible and kinks on the intake side. Yay for idiots! I think i may have some threaded tubing somewhere that may work.

Update! Added live plants....lots heh. I dont remember all the types i have gotten. Some have been random packages i have gotten from other enthusiasts. Added a diy co2 system till i can find a tank to go pressurized. Feel free to chime in on plant IDs if you want lol. Also some pics of some tiger nerites i picked up for 2 bucks a piece in tampa fl. The nerites are in my 20 long atm. Enjoy the pics!
