Nice as always! Is the Red Empress an F1 (dad an F0)? Or just a domestic bred line of Namalenje Island? Seems like i've asked before...lol can't remember.

I've never been to big on the Cytocara moorii, but lately every picture i see of them makes me want a few in my tanks.

Thanks Matt. I think the juvy red empress pics look a little too dark...I may have to adjust that.

The father is F1 and the fry are F2's.

Ive always been a fan of the C. mooriis. I like them cuz they're different...I get tired of the same looking fish (peacocks).

Great Pictures! Thanks for sharing!

I was just wondering where you find fish like Protomelas taeniolatus Namalenje Island? Do you have a really bomb LFS, specialty breeder, online site? Seems like my LFS only sells "Mixed Africans" and they are usually all hybrid-looking. Not that those aren't cool, but your pictures of the P. taeniolatus are AMAZING. That coloration is just something I do not see at my LFS.

Thanks everyone. I found a much better pic of my juvy red empress taken last night. I added the new pic to the original post.

I got him from a friend at the Ohio Cichlid Association Extravaganza a few years ago. The blood-red color on these guys is amazing and the black lining on the fins really make him stand out.
