Okay, I'm getting back into the saltwater tank again; after a few years of hiatus.

I'm a little rusty, though, on some basics.

1) How much live rock is good? Right now I have 10lbs in my 20gal tank. There's a good deal online to get 45 more, would that be an overload?

2) Watts per gallon has always confused me. I'm thinking about getting this but do I go with a 55w or 110w? I know this depends on what I plan on putting in there, and eventually I do plan on getting some coral. My gut tells me to go with the 110w, I think I remember something about 4w per gallon is a good amount for coral.

Thanks for your time.

that would be an overload in my opinion...where would you put the fish ;)

i would go for 20 to 25, though ten could be sufficeint if you like the look

i had 110 watts over a 20 and it worked fine for me for softies and a couple of lps corals

Umm...no room for fish with 45+ lbs of live rock. Go with 15-25lbs of live rock. Go with the 110watt light...it will give you more choices for corals.

on a tank of that size you could probably get some really nice branching stuff for fairly cheap and creat a nice lacey look if that is what you are into...i also like the vanuti (sp) but it was out of my price range for the 55 so i used mostly fiji
