a little question about a ****atoo Dwarf Cichlid

What should be a ****atoo Dwarf Cichlid's tankmates. Can they be put in with Africans or Parrots? Or are they not big enough.

No!, African's and Blood Parrots are way too aggressive for these guys. For suitable tankmates...... well i dunno a whole lot about them, but i do know they can go with Discus, dunno if they can go with small fish.. i'll let others chime in

they can go with small fish, anything that won't eat the dwarf cichlid will be fine, tend not to like corydoras as they occupy the same portion of the tank.

I wouldn't say parrots are to aggressive.

What size tank? That helps make your decision.

Check out rams, and other community fish.

I personally would keep them alone but thats my taste. Or i would mix with other small "peacful cichlids"

I second C-Man. I think they are great alone. However, I always like the idea of having a pair patroling the grounds of a nice community tank. Remember, they are "Dwarf" Cichlids so just make sure anyother fish in with them are not big/aggressive enough to make them a snack.

They're nothing like tough enough to go in with africans or blood parrots. They're from south american, acid to neutral pH, low hardness, so think S American community - angels, discus, tetras, pencilfish, hatchets, L number cats.... Cories are ok if there's a bit of space. Rams might work if there's enough space (3 feet and up)- both fish are 'peaceful' but actively territorial

i would say no to mollies, mollies like salt in their water , apistos (your dwarf cichlid). don't like salt, tetras are fine for the most partt.

how about a horse face loach or two?you dont see them all that often but they do a great job eating the left overs
