I dont want to constantly use the gravel syphon to get the red slime algae off the gravel, do you think i could just use the fish net and scoop up the top layer, wash it off and then put it back?

I know you technically dont want to disturb the sandbed, but would a small layer make much of a difference?

any idea where i could find some of that, on the internet specifically?

So i used that method to clean the sand, but i left the sand out of the tank for over and hour. In freshwater mind you, but now it kinda smells funny. Not like death, but kinda like fish tank or seafood. was there die off, or is it just too small to even matter. (it was only around 1 cup of sand)
