Ok so I have been looking at ATO's and I was wondering how many of you have them and if they are worth it or not?

They are about 100 bucks and I think it would be useful, I think I was reading somewhere and it said that with mh it can take up to like 4 gallons a day. Is that true?

All depends on your setup. Like,
-do you have a canopy
-are you running cooling fans
-how warm does your tank get

I made an auto top off with a 5 gallon bucked and a float valve. Works great in my opinion.

We got the JBJ one, was about $100. It's nice not to have to top off every day. In our 125g, it was about a gallon and a half a day we'd have to top off. If we forgot a day, the pump would start to pump air into the tank. I think we fill up the 10g reservoir about once or twice a week. You need to make sure that the amount of water in the reservoir could not be enough to overflow your sump (or tank) under any circumstances, in case the pump sticks on. It's not a good idea to hook your ATO up directly to an RO feed.

its definitly useful how ever ive yet to set on up...its definitly in the near future though i just have other things that i feel are more important
