I'm looking to purchase some lights, and I don't understand the differences. What is a 10000k bulb and why get a red light or blue light? And I see advertisement for a 50/50 (red/blue), please help, thanks.

10000k bulb is so white, it has a blue hue. I know 50/50 bulb to be a white with blue actinic, but unless the bulb specifies it. 50/50 means half one color and half of another. Red lighting is used at low wattage for night time viewing. Gorgonians and certain low light lifeforms will appear with this lighting.
