? about Coralife cf fixture

I currently have my Coralife cf fixture (6500K, 65 watts) over the tank"s versa glass top with legs that bring the fixture up about 1.75 inches about the glass. Can anyone tell me if it would it be any better for my live plants to have the fixture resting on top of the glass? Would it be too hot to rest directly on top of the glass?

It probably would be too hot on top of the glass, which would be bad for the fish more than for the plants.

Make sure you keep the glass top clean, as if it's dirty or has water deposits, it will significantly cut down on the light going into the tank.
