What can I use to cure my betta?

Is the fish pine coning? If not try to get it to eat a pea, frozen pea defrosted in a little tank water the shelled. It might just be constipated. Do not add regular aquarium salt thinking it will fix it, that just makes it worse if it is dropsy.

He died he was all pine coned out also. Very sad.

I had a bigger tank on my desk at work 2.5 it was fun but I wanted to down size so I did go to the gallon and 1/2 tank and that was good, I did regular water changes and I guess with the last water change last week there was something amiss in the tank

yes two females can be housed together...but you really wanted to downsize to a 1/2gal? Why? In the long run, tanks that small do not house fish for long..they are hanging on to bare life, and certainly dont thrive in those conditions. When you see a betta housed in those cups, it's really only meant for short term, the rice pools they are found in are very deep
