I actually preffer acrylic aquariums, ha no seals. Yeah they can scratch easy just like any plastic so just dont play with sharp or hard objects by your tank no big deal. What size tank do you plan on buying? Prolly a 10g right?

Thinking of a 30-55gal just looking to see the best deal.
Do you currently have one and if so what brand/size?

I have 2 10 gallon acrylic tanks and one is a cheap K-Mart brand i bought when they were going out of buisness and the other i believe is Hawkeye. Im not too sure because it doesnt really say the company on the box but all the components like heaters n air pumps said hawkeye. I got it at petco for like $70 and i really like the design and set up. So yeah how could you not see a 10 gallon acrylic im sure that your local petco or petsmart has prolly got them if you look.

I may have an answer to the scratching of acrylic, at least on the outside. There are probably cheaper solutions and i havent tried this one but its an idea. Its a product in the Drs. Foster and Smith catalog. I cant find it now but ill try and find it.
