What's so diffrent about these blubs than regular florescant? HelloLights.com doesn't seem to tell.

very very cool (reed darkblue) lights...upwards of 10000k...for marine applications...puts a very clean crisp look

Ah, don't want dark blue...

What will give me crisp clean white lighting and enough light for glosso on a 40G freshwater tank with the dimensions of:

36"L x 15"W x 16"H

?????

Well, that depends on what you wanna do with it. If you want to grow plants, buy either pc or vho, with 6700k bulbs. If you do this, you also leave yourself the option of upgrading to reef tank capability later by only buying bulbs . Hth, i tried to keep it brief.

*understands now* The only lighting I have is a 24 inch UL listed fixture, it kinda throws a damper on the idea though.
