Im looking for some active corys. I so far have kept Spotted Corys and they seem to hide all the time untill i feed them, even when the tank is crystal clear and all the other fish are as happy as can be. So far ive been recommended Panda,Juli, and Leopard but im still not sure what will be active. So what corys do you have that are active and what conditions do you think help them thrive.(Planted tank, special decor.,ect.) Thanks

why discriminate get the original bronze cory.cute, cheap, hardy and best not shy.peppered corys are good too make sure they are in groups of six or more for best acitvity and action.if you have the money and a clean enough tank sterba's cory an increbable community fish.i have noticed the same with pandas & spotted corys kind shy but eventualy they will come around.i saved apair from wal-mart once and they sucked for the first month but after a set schedule and good food the became the most captivating fish i had(for a while)most corys do fine in a wide varity of condions as long as they are acclimated properly.but the main is keep well rounded fine substrate keep it real clean so that bacterial colonys don't break out and cause barble erosion.if you can a leaf litter substrate is best as this is the habitat they are usualy found shallow streams and ponds with leaf litter on the bottom.that or fine sand.

I started with a Julii cory and he was an amazingly active cleaner. Next I got a peppered cory and he took a while to adjust but now is just as active (they are both now in my 55gal, Julii started in the 29gal) I just got an Albino Cory for my 29gal and he went to cleanign straight away, and is very active.
I think any Cory would be a good addition to the bottom cleaning crew.

Yes, good gravel is best for Corys, nothing to rough to injur their barbels.
