adding a female gourami

I've got 2 male dwarf gouramis in my tank. There's definatly a pecking order to my two. Could I add one female to maybe take the heat off the smaller of the 2 males, or would I need to add more than one female? Or if i can't find a female, would a third male make things better or worse?

Hm... it might be a better solution to switch the smaller male for a female. Gourmies don't like to share.
