Adding fish or Shrimp

Ok my tank has cycled and im ready to add fish. Now awhile back i decided to go with rainbow fish ( on other members suggestions thank you). Now i want to put ghost shrimp and auto cats in as well, so should i get them in the tank first or should i put the fish in first. The fish are fairly expensive so i dont want to lose them. They are about 20 dollars for 2 so i want to make sure that my tank is completly done so there is no problems. So if anyone has any suggestions on what would be the best process it would be greatly appreciated.

Well to make sure your tank is completly cycled put in one or two ghost shrimp since they are cheap and if they die let it run a day or so (depending on how quick they die) then add the fish. Hope that helped.

Shrimp are pretty intolerant of ammonia and nitrites. Otos are also sensitive to ammonia. I think the shrimp first would be OK, but they also won't produce enough bioload to really test the tank out.

Did you fishlessly cycle the tank?

Whatever you did to cycle, you will need to check ammonia and nitrites for the first few days, just in case.

ok thanks for your help especially lotus. I am going to the fish store today i cheked parameters this morning again and everything is zero so i think i should be fine. I will keep you posted
