well I did a no go a few days ago and put in five baby neon tetras in a tank, one of them did not want to school and shortly later died......the following few days three of my fish died that were in that tank and after elimianting the possibility of amonia/nitrites/and nitrates and a few other things I decided it was the neons which i was so in a hurry to get them in the tank I didnt put them in the QT first. and now my gourami Aisu has scales flaking of in the rear and it looks like a sore so him along with the rest of the sickly looking fish will be spending some time in the QT to heal and rid them selves of any sickness so my advice to all is use the QT with new fish no exceptions

Oh that's horrid Sixx!

I think we've all done it sadly. I had a new fish bring ich into my tank similarly.

Did you try some Melafix? I know I sound like a broken record but that's my first go to for any injury in the tank.

yeah theyve moved into the QT tank and are being treated now but it was just an arogant mistake to think I could get away with not QT'ing the new guys just this once....... my mistake that my poor fishies paid for which sucks cause I've been priding myself on not not having fishies die

ok pinned i down the scales comming off helped with the diagnosis and the lfs and my self believe its Bacterial Hemorrhagic Septicemia and the treatment is Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride Powder, for ten days now the stuff I got is gram -/+ to treat for more than just that but what ever as long as my little guys get better
