These are a few of the Bush Fish (Ctenopoma) in my collection. They are strictly African anabantids...related to the Asian gouramis but significantly more predatory in their nature.

Mottled Bush Fish - Ctenopoma oxyrhynchum

Bullseye Bush Fish - Ctenopoma ocellatum

Leopard Bush Fish - Ctenopoma acutirostre

No close relation between these fish and the Siamese Tigerfish though they do look similar in many ways.

Here's a picture of my male Microctenopoma fasciolatum. He is incredibly camera-shy so it is tough to get a really good shot of him but this one at least shows the color in his fins:

Yes....I have a couple of Ctenopoma (Microctenopoma) ansorgii but they're pretty small right now and VERY secretive. It has been impossible for me to get any decent pictures of the little monsters to this point. If I get a chance, I'll try to take a couple sometime later this week.

Tiger9.....

You caught me! (LOL) I haunt a LOT of fish-related boards including Predatoryfish.net, Odd-Fish.net, Aquariumadvice.com and AquaticPredators.com among other places. This is one forum that I visit pretty reguarly...at least a couple of times a day on most occasions.

Good to see you here!

Tiger9....

Finally caught one of my Microctenopoma ansorgii out front where I could get him in my sights! Unfortunately they're in an acrylic aquarium with a few scratches so the image quality isn't that great....but at least you can get an idea of what they look like:
