African Butterfly Fish have large mouths, so small schooling fish would likely be candidates to go missing. THese are NOT easy fish to take care of, generally, so I would discourage a noobie from keeping them. Mine died after several months. They prefer to eat bugs that naturally move along the water surface. In the absence of a bug infested room, he'd have to provide a suitable replacement source of food, preferrably live food.
