African Butterfly Fish Tankmates?

Hi my friend is getting a 70 gallon, and he wants an abf in it. But he dosen't know what fish it could go with it. Does anyone know what fish can go with a abf?

Anything that won't eat it, that isn't nippy, that isn't a top dweller, and isn't small LOL.

The tank would have to be 100% covered, as well.

It's a lot easier to say what won't go with it than what will....does he have any ideas?

After he saw my tank he defintly wanted angelfish and some kind of pleco but I'm not sure what else he's getting.

Those are both fine. My angel never bothered my butterfly even once.

African Butterfly Fish have large mouths, so small schooling fish would likely be candidates to go missing. THese are NOT easy fish to take care of, generally, so I would discourage a noobie from keeping them. Mine died after several months. They prefer to eat bugs that naturally move along the water surface. In the absence of a bug infested room, he'd have to provide a suitable replacement source of food, preferrably live food. I fed mine frozen blood worms and he ate them greedily, but still died...
