african rift lake cichlids

are there any of these that could live in 25g aquarium?  i have this extra tank lying around and i really want to do cichlids but if there arent africans ill just go with convicts or something like that.  the water round here is already pretty hard alkaline.  thanks for ur suggestions.  peace.

Brichardi (sp?) are Tangkaniquians (sp?) that are suppose to do well in small tanks provided you only have one breeding pair of them. But don't quote me on that.

Brichardis would be OK. So would some of the smaller julidichromis species, leleupis get aggressive. Altolamp calvus, no more than 2 pr, or a male and 3 females.

also, you could do ONE pair of any of those, and go with SAND base, and some of the shelldwellers. multis are cool, they form families, the brevis are shy....here's some links to shellies:

Is the tank long or tall?  Tall tanks are pretty useless here. I've a 20 long I keep a 1m/2f breeding groups of electric yellows in, but you couldnt go smaller, or shoreter than 28 * 14 inch footprint.  See the cichlid recipe
