Hi, I wanted to get some aggressive fish, for my 20 gal long.

I was looking for something like a few convicts and maybe a couple others. But what is the best and most active. I also want to get some that will chase down some feeders every once in a while.

Any suggestions??

Thanks.

I suggest 2 convicts (male/female) and a green terror for that tank. NOT!

that 20 gallon is full'o'fish man. Too many. Those ID sharks alone grow to like 50" each

You want to add something aggressive to that mix? Crazy... add convicts and pretty soon you'll have cured your overpopulation problems *PEACE!*

I LOVE CONVICTS have 2 myself and both are very active and nice looking. Convicts are a little.......Tale tailed. I have found they are not as aggressive as they are made out to be except during spawning. They have a live and let live attitude to life i think (except spawning) But yes i'm sure they would make a great addition to your tank. I keep mine in a 25 gallon. With a large Mixed African and its great, have some good scuffles here and there. I highly recommend Convicts. You should even try to breed them, i had much sucess with breeding.....you can check out some onf my pics here... www.freewebs.com/myfishtank water is a bit cloudy though and the glare form the flash but other than that they are good. ;)

NO NO NO I left this one out there. However, my 46 gal is now cycled and all those fish have been moved out.

So there is nothing left in the 20 except for a couple zebra danios that i gave up on trying to catch, as after 5 minutes of not leaving the back on my heater i left them alone.

So, now any suggestions about getting some aggressives for the 20?

so now that i've changed my signature, please hit me with some ideas.

I'm too darn busy to make changed to my signature all the time.

Please don't tell me my tank is over crowded because my fish are doing just fine, and have been for a while.

aggressives in a 20... Lamprologus ocellatus! hehe

a 20 doesn't provide much room for anything that's aggressive. If it was a bit bigger I would suggest convicts.... *shrug*

those Ctenopoma look crazy! I've never even heard of em before... african labyrinth fishes? sweet hehe

as far as your 46 gallon, when you list it in your sig like that, you're just asking for it on these boards :p If you say they're doing fine, I believe you. Given the right filtration and enough water changes, lot's can be done that people here wouldn't recommend.

I want a 20 gal long for a large school of neons :D

I know thats not what your looking for but a bunch of neons in a 20 gallon makes for a nice looking tank.

yah...look into some of the dwarf african cichlids for aggressive fish...might be able to keep a pair of something in a 20L...not many other options really...i think a pair of convicts is probably feasable, though it isnt ideal for them...
